About the Play: Decadent Acts, set in the late 1980s in New York City,chronicles the story of a prominent lesbian couple struggling againstlegislated discrimination. The story follows anthropologist JoleneShatila and her partner, television personality Farah White as theydeal with challenges stemming from Farah's terminal illness.

Character Breakdowns:

JOLENE SHATILA: Female. 30 to mid 50's. Anthropologist andprofessor. Farah White’s partner of 10 years, adoptive parent of NicoleWhite. Tough, passionate, proud yet stubborn. Also has a very sensitiveside. Could be described as butch. Think “Rachel Maddow” type. LGBTtalent strongly encouraged to submit.

FARAH WHITE: Female. 30 mid 40’s. Meteorologist and televisionpersonality for national morning news program. Farah is the biologicalparent of Nicole White. LGBT talent strongly encouraged to submit.

ROGER WHITE: Male. 60’s. Farah’s father and Nicole’s biological grandfather.

FEMALE ENSEMBLE: Female. Mid to late 20's. Plays a variety of characters throughout the play. Versatile actress required.
