In March NH is participating in "The Big Read" a National Endowment for the Humanities program where people throughout a state read the same book. This year's book is "To Kill A Mockingbird" and there will be events throughout the state celebrating the themes of the book. As a kickoff event, the NH Center for the Book wants to stage the famous courtroom scene at a real courthouse in Concord in late February or early March, the date is not yet set. There may also be a couple of other performances at libraries in the state. > > Auditions will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday January 11 at the Rodgers Memorial Library, 194 Derry Rd. Hudson NH. (directions below). If you are interested in auditioning and can't make this time call Amy Friedman at 603-886-6030, 9-5 on Friday or Monday or email amyfriedman@rodgerslibrary.org > > Actors are needed to play Atticus Finch, the prosecutor, judge, sheriff, father of the "victim" (all at least 35 up to any age for some, the sheriff can possibly be younger) the victim (19 year old girl) and the accused, Tom Robinson (28 year old black man, am willing to go anywhere from 25-40). Southern accents are needed for the characters. > > This is a volunteer acting production, there are no salaries. > > Rehearsals will be held at the Rodgers Memorial Library in Hudson, NH schedule will be flexible.
